My preferred way of drawing is
1. Make a line drawing in chinese ink and
2. Color it in when dry.
But many illustrations I like -just to call three examples: Nathalie Leté, Kelly Lasserre or Geninne– haven’t got black lines. A black line defines already completely the drawing. So I tried to draw without black ink, only with aquarelle, and only with a brush. Of course I was tempted to start with the line drawing, in a light color. And it was REALLY hard not to draw the black lines afterwards! 🙂
