(Don’t) Hang down your head

drawing_0005

It was a kinda rough day. To relax a bit, I started drawing, with Tom Waits‘ song playing in my head ‘So hang down your head for sorrow, hang down your head, hangdown you-our he-ad…’. When the head-down man stood on the paper, a bit depressed, I thought, ‘Come on, let’s make it a POSITIVE drawing, please!’ 😉
So I counted my blessings, drew a sun and put ‘don’t’ before – and then our youngest woke up (of course). 😀

Still I find it a very strong melody. I have no heartache or gone lover, but it starts playing in my head when it’s not going smoothly…

Tear the promise from my heart, tear my heart today
You have found another, oh baby I must go away
So hang down your head for sorrow, hang down your head for me
Hang down your head tomorrow, hang down your head Marie’
